Parous McLaren Vale Shiraz 2021
$60.00
Winemaker Matt Head hasn’t held back with this beauty. The ultimate in McLaren Vale shiraz: dark, bold and velvety. Juicy black fruits and a gamey savoury edge meet chilli infused chocolate notes. This has serious breadth on the palate while remaining fresh enough to warrant another glass. It’s not often you find such finessed wines at this price, and like all good things, there’s not all that much to go around.
Region: McLaren Vale
Blood Plum | Spice Vanilla | Full-Bodied | Velvety | Rich
“A thoroughly enjoyable wine from a single vineyard in the Sellicks Hill sub-region of McLaren Vale. Fermentation was in open-top stainless steel tanks with hand plunging and daily pumpovers, before two years 300-litre French (90%) and American (10%) oak hogsheads.
The wine is a deep red/garnet. We have aromas of leather, dark berries, cloves, cherries, roast meats, coffee grinds and warm earth. There is a good focus here, and a lingering finish which maintains the intensity. Very attractive. Enjoy this over the next six to eight years.”
